Niddatal-Ilbenstadt, Deutschland - in Niddatal-ilbenstadt was full of use on July 16, 2025 in bright summer weather when it opened its doors for an day of open house . The event attracted numerous visitors who took the opportunity to experience the impressive services of the volunteer forces up close. The varied program, which was for both large and small informative and entertaining, included an exhibition of emergency vehicles of various fire brigades and emergency services.
The exhibited vehicles included not only the emergency vehicles of the fire brigade Ilbenstadt , but also the beautiful turntable ladder from Karben and a tank fire engine 4000 from Friedberg . The Technical aid organization Friedberg was also represented with a equipment car, and the German Red Cross was on site with an ambulance. A partnerwehr from Anelfingen was also present and contributed to the great atmosphere.
with knowledge and skill
A special highlight was the exercise of the youth fire brigade , which impressively demonstrated a fire attack. The operational department also showed its skills with an exercise on a traffic accident in which a person was trapped. A new battery-operated combination cutting and spreading device was used, which was recently purchased for 13,000 euros. The financing is carried out by the fire brigade support association Ilbenstadt and Assenheim. The device was ceremoniously handed over to military leader Christian Behnken, city fire inspector Alexander Merkelbach and Mayor Michael Hahn.
A special demonstration was the Rauchhaus demonstration , which illuminated how smoke spreads and why smoke detectors are so important. This information is particularly relevant, since on June 13, 2025 the Rauchmeldetertag took place, which is intended to raise awareness of the need for smoke alarms. According to a current study, 92 % of tenants have smoke detectors, but only 77 % of homeowners in self -used living space. Many owners underestimate the risk or belief that legal provisions do not concern them, warned Christian Rudolph, CEO of the FROMRUCHEPEVENVERNITION e.V.
celebration, fun and education
In addition to the exciting demonstrations, visitors were also well cared for culinary. On the colorful buffet there was everything from schnitzel and sausages to cake and a torten counter . For the little guests there was a bouncy castle and various play stations, while the adults could enjoy the party night am Löschtich with DJ André S. and a cocktail bar.
The day was a nice occasion to not only show the fire brigade's skills, but also to educate the population about the topic of fire protection and smoke detectors . As Hermann Schreck, Vice President of the German Fire Brigade Association, emphasized, protection by smoke detectors is essential. The legal obligation to equip living rooms with smoke alarms applies to new buildings and existing buildings, whereby the responsibility for installation is clearly with the owners.
Finally, it can be said that the event was not only a festival, but also an important platform to strengthen the awareness of fire protection and the importance of smoke detectors in your own home. You can find more information on this on Feuerwehrverband.de and Rauchmernder-lebensretter.de.
