Fulminant matinee in Karben: a musical farewell to the extra class!

Karben, Deutschland - A touch of music and community fulfilled the civil center in Karben when the symphonic wind orchestra of the city chapel recently invited to the matinee under the motto "diversity". This event took place on June 15, 2025 and was to inspire with various musical genres and moods. A weather -related change of plan ensured that the interior decided what the acoustics and atmosphere only improved. The honorable guests, including Mayor Guido Rahn and Ursula Hebel-Zipper, the headmistress of the Kurt Schumacher School, contributed to the ceremonial mood.

Responsible for the musical direction was Claus Carsten Behrendt, who for the last time conducted the orchestra after 23 years. Kirstin Zeller from the Board of Directors of the Stadtkapelle opened the program and warmly welcomed the guests. The evening began with "The Seventh Night of July" by Itaru Sakai, a work that is deeply rooted in a Japanese legend and the listeners captivated from the start.

variety of music

The moderators Cosima and Miriam Förster charged the performances and explained the background of the pieces. The clarinet concert No. was particularly noteworthy 7 in Es major by Carl Stamitz, who was played with flying colors by clarinetist Julian Moissl and brought him a lot of applause. The piece "Vulnarable Joy" by Jodie Blackshaw took the audience into the moving story of a Buckelwal mother and once again showed the emotional power of music.

Another highlight was the premiere of "Destination proxima Centauri B", a work that was commissioned especially for the city chapel. The festival march "Jubilee sounds" by Ernst Uebel and the film music from "Star Trek" by Jerry Goldsmith were also very well received. In order to continue to inspire the audience, the orchestra presented a medley with rock hits, which included pieces such as "Walk This Way" by Aerosmith and "Seven Nation Army" by The White Stripes. The performance of "Celtic Flutes" under the direction of the soloists Angelina Nölker and Denise Stieber was another highlight of the evening.

friendship and support

As an encore, there was a medley of the best hits from Roxette, which stimulated the listeners to hum. The orchestra's commitment and the support of the community became particularly clear that day. Katrin Hill from Brother International presented a donation check for over 1000 euros, which should benefit the participation of the youth orchestra in the upcoming orchestra competition.

The Matinee in Karben impressively shows how music can combine people and create a feeling of community. And while the symphonic wind orchestra hovers at new heights, another wind orchestra in Hamburg also takes a look into the future. The [Festival of Cultures and Sounds] (https://www.hamburg-tourism.de/sehen-erleben/veranstaltungs-kalende/fest-kulturen-und-klaenge-20- Years-Sinfonisches-Blasorchester-Wind-Brass-Hamburg-E-V/) on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Wind & Brass Orchester, stands in front of the door and promises a musical diversity that is also enthusiastic.

The Stadtkapelle Karben not only remains active in the region with this event, but also contributes to a cultural exchange with its commitment, from which not only the musicians benefit, but also the entire community.
