Secure your place: Peace camp for young ambassadors in Italy!

An exciting opportunity for young adults between the ages of 18 and 20 is available: the international peace camp in Collecchio, Italy. From August 24th to 30th, 2025, those interested have the chance to take part in this special event. Arrival day is August 23rd, while the journey home takes place on August 31st. The registration deadline ends on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Anyone who would like to register can do so conveniently by email hauptamt@stadt-butzbach.de do. A highlight of the camp: It doesn't cost the participants a cent, as the city of Butzbach covers the costs.

Located in the idyllic Nevicati Park, less than a ten-minute walk from the city center, the campsite will offer all the necessary amenities - from shared tents to foldable foam mattresses. Within the park is Villa Soragna, which serves as a community library and cultural center. Collecchio town center has numerous bars, cafes, ice cream parlors and restaurants, as well as the nearby town of Parma, which is just 11 km away and can be reached in a few minutes by bus.

Together for peace

The camp has the important goal of empowering participants as promoters of a culture of peace. Daily activities include not only conferences, but also walks and bike rides, which are intended to encourage exchange and reflection on peace and integration. A joint project or workshop is presented at the “Peace Lunch”, which offers participants a platform to share their ideas and experiences.

The initiative is particularly important in the context of the fight against hatred and intolerance. Inspired by history, for example the 75th anniversary of the SS massacre in Sant'Anna di Stazzema, where up to 560 people were murdered, current discussions about democracy, right-wing populism and German responsibility for past crimes can be initiated. Participants in another peace project in Tuscany visited survivors and reflected on the meaning of peace and humanity, and recognized the need to stand up against right-wing populism allinfo.space reported.

A valuable award

At the end of the camp, the participants receive a certificate from the city of Collecchio and are named “Ambassadors of Peace”. This award is intended to encourage the young generation to become active and promote peace in their communities.

Anyone interested in this unique program should hurry up and don't miss the registration. The email address is available for questions and further information hauptamt@stadt-butzbach.de available. Take advantage of the opportunity for an enriching experience and become part of an important movement for peace and understanding!
