Alfred Weil from Oppershofen celebrates his 80th birthday with a big celebration
On Sunday, June 15, 2025, Alfred Weil from Oppershofen was able to celebrate a special occasion: his 80th birthday. Mayor Olga Schneider did not miss the opportunity to congratulate him in a warm speech and point out his numerous contributions to the town. Alfred, who was born in the tranquil community, is an integral part of the residents' everyday lives.
From the first years of his life, Alfred was closely connected to his homeland. After training as a car locksmith at the Scheller company in Bad Nauheim, he found his professional calling at the Nerlich company in Butzbach. There he gained valuable experience, particularly in dealing with larger vehicles and diesel engine technology. Above all, however, he was responsible for a long time as a workshop foreman for trucks at the truck stop in Butzbach, where until 2008 he ensured that truck drivers in particular were well looked after on the busy A5.
The commitment to the community
But Alfred's commitment goes far beyond his professional activities. In his youth he was a passionate artistic cyclist at RSV Oppershofen and celebrated numerous successes with his team. He worked as a computer for the club for 33 years and was actively involved not only in sporting events, but also in club celebrations. Alfred also demonstrated his musical talent by playing the clarinet in the band of the Oppershofen Volunteer Fire Department. He always supported the village community with great commitment.
The congratulations on his big birthday came not only from the community, but also from the RSV and his family. Alfred can look forward to the loving support of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who stood by his side on this special day.
Conversations and memories
It is particularly nice for Alfred that he is surrounded by friends, neighbors and family on an anniversary like this. “Festivals like this bring people together,” he says, looking back on the many years he spent in Oppershofen. It's not just the memories of sporting successes or professional heights that mark this day. Rather, it is the feeling of belonging and the happiness of being part of a committed community that is of utmost importance to Alfred.
