Ceremonial honor: 300 years of corporate culture in the Main-Kinzig district!

In a ceremony that put the local economy in the spotlight, companies from the Main-Kinzig district were honored for their decades of activity. On October 26, 2025, a list of honors made the rounds that included companies with anniversaries ranging from 25 to 300 years. The event was an impressive symbol of the entrepreneurial spirit that characterizes the region. In her welcoming speech, Natasha Rohde highlighted the importance of these companies for the regional economy and the role they play in the community.

Dr. Ingo Köhler, the managing director of the Hessian Economic Archives, reviewed the history of the award-winning companies in his speech. He emphasized the courage of the founders who dared to become self-employed in difficult times. The specialist shop for haberdashery and fabrics, Hinkel in Bruchköbel, was founded in 1835. Even during the global economic crisis, a company, Erich Claus Immobilienverwaltung in Maintal, found the courage to found itself in 1930.

The anniversaries in detail

Overall, companies with a long-standing tradition were honored in various categories. Here are some of the companies honored:

• 25 Jahre: 20 Unternehmen, darunter Alexander Weinrauch e.K. aus Hanau und die europascal GmbH, ebenfalls aus Hanau.
• 30 Jahre: Nikolaus Reinhard Kistner aus Bad Orb.
• 40 Jahre: 6 Unternehmen, unter ihnen die E.G.L. Elektronikvertrieb GmbH aus Linsengericht und die PETA-Formenbau GmbH aus Bad Soden-Salmünster.
• 50 Jahre: 4 Unternehmen, darunter die Hohenstein-Apotheke aus Neuberg und Wimmer TV GmbH aus Gelnhausen.
• 75 Jahre: Baugenossenschaft Hanau eG.
• 95 Jahre: Erich Claus Liegenschaftsverwaltungen GmbH aus Maintal.
• 100 Jahre: Alfons Eisert Container-Transport GmbH aus Großkrotzenburg.
• 105 Jahre: Kreiswerke Main-Kinzig GmbH aus Gelnhausen.
• 120 Jahre: Hans-Jürgen Lambert aus Schlüchtern.
• 125 Jahre: Heinz-Georg Bechtold Hotel zum Euro aus Gründau.
• 130 Jahre: Möbelfabrik Fr. Rudolf & Sohn GmbH aus Schlüchtern.
• 135 Jahre: Glas Hetterich GmbH aus Gelnhausen und die Silberwarenmanufaktur Dr. Herbert Bauer aus Hanau.
• 190 Jahre: Friedrich Hinkel KG aus Bruchköbel.
• 300 Jahre: Hanauer Anzeiger GmbH & Co. KG in Hanau.

Impulses for entrepreneurs

The celebrations not only demonstrate the years of success of local companies, but also provide an incentive for further entrepreneurial initiatives. The “Impulses for Entrepreneurs” event series will be continued, offering regular evening events on current topics in everyday business life. These workshops offer practical ideas for business management and take place in cooperation with the IHK Hanau-Gelnhausen-Schlüchtern and the district craft associations. The motto “From practice for practice” speaks for itself.
