Summer holidays in Hessenpark: Creative and exciting for the whole family!

The Hessian summer holidays are just around the corner! The long-awaited days off for children in the region begin on July 4th. The holiday program is particularly varied Hessenpark open-air museum, which has a wide range of offerings for young and old.

The popular Textile Days will take place on July 5th and 6th, taking visitors into the colorful world of handicrafts from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There is everything your heart desires here: over 40 exhibitors show their handmade products, including fabrics, buttons, wool and much more. A creative treasure hunt for everyone who likes to lend a hand!

Creative learning in the museum

The Textile Days also offer exciting hands-on activities. Visitors can try out blue dyeing, flax processing and old laundry under guidance. In addition to textile materials, metal art and prints are also presented at the stands. Particularly trendy are sustainable products and a clothing swap meet, which offer environmentally conscious visitors a good handle on sustainably sourced materials.

But that's not all: the holiday program “Playing in the Museum” will take place from July 7th to 13th. Every day from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., children are invited to experience old children's games up close and learn more about learning in the imperial era in the historic school. With the help of the school bell, which rings at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., students' courage and enthusiasm for playing are awakened. Here the little ones can take part in attractive activities in the pottery, rope making and town hall - socialize, play and experience!

Holiday courses in the Textile Museum

Art enthusiasts in particular should also take a look at the various holiday courses Upper Franconian Textile Museum throw, which offers numerous creative summer activities for children aged 6 and over. Here we don't just sew, we also do handicrafts: from butterflies made from fabric scraps to mobiles made from old CDs to individual seat cushions, children's dreams are given shape here. The courses take place from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and usually cost €3.00 plus material costs. Even if demand is high, Ulrike Oelschlegel's team ensures that all children enjoy the creative hours.

Another highlight are the additional courses that start in November with a Christmas craft. So if you still have a creative project in mind after a successful summer vacation, you should register in time!

Overall, summer in the Hessenpark and the Textile Museum offers a wonderful opportunity for families to spend creative hours together and rediscover traditions. So let’s go and have fun – the summer holidays are waiting!
