Bicycle thief in Bad Homburg: caught red-handed!
In the last few days, the police in the Hochtaunus district have been keeping busy with a number of exciting and worrying cases. Particular attention is paid to a bicycle theft in Bad Homburg and several break-ins in glassworks. Events are increasing and citizens are called upon to be vigilant.
On Wednesday, October 29, 2025, around 12:30 p.m., a brazen bicycle theft occurred on Louisenstrasse, in the immediate vicinity of Waisenhausplatz. A perpetrator, who is around 1.70 meters tall and appears to be between 35 and 40 years old, broke the lock on a neon green “Cube” Pedelec and made off on his bike. Interestingly, he left his own bicycle at the crime scene and fled towards the Kurhaus. A surveillance camera recorded the crime, which will hopefully help police catch the perpetrator. Tips to the Bad Homburg police station are received on the number (06172) 120-0, as news-stadt.de reports.
Burglaries in glassworks
The next incident took place in Glashütten on the same day - two break-ins were reported. Between 4:15 p.m. and 7:20 p.m., unknown people broke into a single-family home on Gartenstrasse by breaking a window. The perpetrators searched several rooms and took valuables. It is still unclear whether loot was taken during another break-in at a supermarket in Dornsweg around midnight. In this case, windows were forced open and doors and cupboards were attempted to be opened. The Königstein criminal police are investigating and accepting tips on (06174) 9266-0, adds presseportal.de.
But it wasn't just the thieves who had a busy day. In Neu-Anspach, more precisely in the shopping center on Hans-Böckler-Straße, a parking space for bicycles was daubed with purple spray paint at around 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. The Usingen police are also investigating here and are asking for information on (06081) 9208-0.
Road safety
No less worrying was a traffic accident that also took place on October 29th around 5:20 p.m. on the B 455 near Oberursel. A 19-year-old driver of a Skoda drove into a broken down vehicle, a VW Passat. Both vehicles were badly damaged in the impact, with total damage estimated at around 10,000 euros. Fortunately, the two occupants only sustained minor injuries and were taken to hospital for evaluation. This comes down to the importance of always exercising caution on the road so that similar incidents can be avoided in the future. More about this in the report from news-stadt.de.
The police ask all citizens to pay particular attention to the safety of their surroundings and to report any suspicious activity immediately. Only together can we ensure our neighborhoods remain safe.
