Wiesbaden is investing 3 million euros for more security at events!

There are new measures in Wiesbaden to increase security at events. The city recently purchased over 200 innovative access barriers, including 150 of the Armis Go mobile system. These modern security solutions, which have been on the market since June, are intended to specifically prevent unauthorized vehicles, especially trucks, from entering events. There is great concern about attacks with vehicles, which have been a recurring issue in recent years.

As the SWR reports, the city of Wiesbaden will use the new barrier elements for popular events such as Carnival, the Spring Festival and the Rheingau Wine Week. The investment in this security technology amounts to almost 3 million euros - an amount that did not make the city administration hesitate. Mayor Christiane Hinninger (Greens) made it clear that the aim in the future would be to secure events without having to cancel them.

Fast security with Armis Go

The Armis Go system impresses with its user-friendliness and effectiveness. It is a mobile access barrier that is ready for use in just a few minutes and does not require any special operating effort. The performance of this barrier is unsurpassed, especially when it comes to highly frequented areas. As on the manufacturer's website Consel Group As you can read, Armis Go can even bring vehicles weighing tons to a standstill within a few meters and can even be used in combination with other systems if desired.

In addition to the new Armis Go barriers, Wiesbaden also has 90 others that can be used if necessary. The flexibility of these systems is a plus as they can be installed quickly without the need for special tools.

Security and culture in harmony

The discussion about access protection is becoming increasingly important in the events industry, and not just since the attacks in 2016 Federal Association of Event Security (bvvs) expresses concerns that unreflective security measures often lead to a decline in cultural diversity. It is required that measures be based on sound risk analyzes in order to ensure not only security but also cultural life.

Coordination between authorities and organizers is of central importance throughout the planning process so that security does not become an overwhelming additional requirement that ultimately leads to event cancellations. Risk analyzes should form the basis for all decisions in order to be able to develop individually tailored protection concepts.

With its investment, the city of Wiesbaden shows that it takes the safety of its citizens and visitors seriously. The new access protection shows that Wiesbaden is ready to actively address the challenges of today and at the same time maintain its diverse cultural life.
