Young people live their dream: Youth Culture Festival in Wiesbaden!
Kulturpark am Schlachthof, 65199 Wiesbaden, Deutschland - On Saturday, July 5, 2025, the Kulturpark am Schlachthof in Wiesbaden transformed into the setting of this year's Youth Culture Festival . From 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., the event is all about cultural participation and self -designing young people. Entry is free and the event is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. This year's motto "Your Space. Your sound. Your self." invites you to be creative and find your own forms of expression.
The festival is organized by young people and young adults aged 14 to 27, who do this independently and on a voluntary basis. Under the guidance of experienced mentors from the event area, you have put together a varied program that includes seven live acts, information and hands-on as well as gastronomic offers- mostly vegetarian and vegan. The bands Zelle14, Diamando and the headliner Power Plush are on the stage. A highlight will also be greeted by the social department Dr. Patricia Becher at 8:30 p.m.cultural participation and commitment
Young people in Wiesbaden not only have the opportunity to actively participate in the Youth Culture Festival. As part of the Week of the engagement , which took place in early May, they campaigned for social justice and bourgeois commitment. They are involved in district centers, organize flea markets and support the needy with warm food. The social department Dr. Becher praised the commitment and diversity of the projects that not only strengthen the community, but also promote social cohesion.
Sabine Herrmann, head of the youth work department, emphasizes how important the reflection on social issues and the implementation of specific approaches are. During the action week, numerous activities were offered, from intercultural cooking projects to beautification measures in the city.
Promotion of youth culture
In order to further promote the creative potential of young people, platforms and programs for cultural education are essential. In Germany, many young people mostly come into contact with friends or personal experiences with cultural offers. The Youth welfare portal emphasizes that it is important to communicate and make such offers better. There is often a lack of centralized information policy on federal and country levels, but numerous initiatives at the local level are active to support young people in their creativity.
The Youth Culture Festival and the week of engagement impressively show how important it is to offer young people space and opportunities to develop culturally and socially. These events are not only a festival of creativity, but also an opportunity for stronger social responsibility within the community.
