Dotzheim unites: New postcard shows the heart of the district!
There is reason to be happy in Dotzheim. Two committed citizens, Harald Kuntze and Heike Schreiner, have created a new postcard that properly highlights the heart of the district. Dotzheim, home to almost 30,000 people and one of the largest districts in Wiesbaden, now presents itself in a very special way. The map shows visual representations of the six districts, from the Catholic church in Kohlheck to the historic signal box in the old town center of Dotzheim.
Kuntze, a filmmaker and active local advisory board member, teamed up with Schreiner, a creative from the Wiesbaden artist office, to unite the diversity and character of the different districts. The motifs were not chosen at random, but were created through careful research in photo archives and conversations with local residents. Not only well-known landmarks such as Freudenberg Castle for the settlement of the same name and the Sauerland school building are shown on the postcard - the two high-rise buildings for the Schelmengraben have also found their place.
A sign of connection
The postcard was first presented at the New Year's reception in January and aims to send a visible signal of the residents' solidarity. “We love Wiesbaden-Dotzheim” is prominently featured on the menu, which is available free of charge at various locations such as shops, clubs and during the Dotzheim Cultural Days. The initiators hope that, in addition to its function as a holiday greeting, the card will also be used as a pretty decorative element in your home.
What is particularly noteworthy is that the decision to select the motif was made in close collaboration with multipliers from the respective districts, which gives the map an authentic touch. Much emphasis was placed on ensuring that the green areas and trees of Dotzheim, known for its large forest areas, were taken into account in the design.
Dotzheim at a glance
Dotzheim is not only the second largest district in Wiesbaden, but with its population of almost 30,000 residents it also offers a wide range of social and cultural offerings. The neighborhood is characterized by a strong community, which is reflected in numerous clubs and events. A project like this, like the new postcard, illustrates the vitality and community spirit of Dotzheim. The backgrounds and special features of the districts are more than just sheep on a map - they tell a story that is deeply rooted in the souls of the residents.
With the new postcard, Dotzheim shows once again that it occupies a special place in the heart of Wiesbaden. Kuntze and Schreiner's initiative is a great example of how local projects can strengthen a sense of belonging and at the same time celebrate the beauty of one's own district. If you haven't seen the map yet, you should grab it quickly - the colorful depictions are waiting to move into every home and carry on the stories of Dotzheim.
