Rhine in flames: Mega event in Bingen with fireworks and party!

When the Rhine is on fire, you can be sure that an unforgettable spectacle is in store. From July 4th to 6th, 2025 it's that time again: the “Rhine in Flames®” festival brings visitors from all over the world to the beautiful banks of the Rhine in Bingen. Brilliant fireworks and a festive atmosphere attract over 100,000 guests every year, and not without reason. The event has been taking place since 1977 and is now an integral part of the cultural calendar in the region. Antenna-KH reports that on Friday, July 4th, the celebrations will begin with a warm-up program at 5 p.m., with DJ David Banks and RPR1, among others, providing the perfect party atmosphere.

On Saturday, July 5th, the festival opens its doors at 3 p.m. Here visitors can enjoy a variety of delicious specialties from local winemakers and restaurants. The musical entertainment will be provided by the party band BUZZ at Rhein-Nahe-Eck and DJ EX-CELL at the Hindenburganlage from 7 p.m. The crowning finale will be a magnificent fireworks display at 11 p.m., which will light up the night sky over Bingen. Your Bingen emphasizes that this year too the impressive fireworks and illuminated castles along the Rhine are the highlights of the event.

A feast for all senses

The festival not only extends along the banks of the Rhine, but also on the event ship Vallendar, which offers guests the opportunity to experience the spectacle from the water. Flamethrowers, illuminated castles and the final fireworks guarantee a breathtaking sight. World Heritage Middle Rhine Valley describes that the entire event takes place in a unique setting that is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site - the Upper Middle Rhine Valley. Here the majestic landscape becomes the perfect stage for an unforgettable celebration.

But not only the Rhine itself, the surrounding area also has a lot to offer. Rüdesheim, with its attractive wine beach and the striking Niederwald monument, is not far away and invites you to explore the region. A special attraction is the fireworks hike with Wolfgang Blum, which starts on Saturday at 7:45 p.m. at the P2 parking lot. The Rebenhaus at the Niederwalddenkmal provides a culinary experience with musical performances and grilled specialties, although reservations are required.

Arrival and further information

For the journey there will be a ferry from Rüdesheim to Bingen, which runs until 1 a.m. To ensure that all guests arrive on time for the celebrations, we would like to point out that road closures on Rheinstrasse and the vineyard paths around the Panoramaweg will be in effect from 9 p.m. A special train has also been requested, the confirmation of which is still pending.

Be there when the Rhine shines and enjoy a weekend full of fun, fireworks and fine culinary delicacies - this will be an event not to be missed!
