BASF women: Last chance for the second division title in Ludwigshafen!

It's starting soon for the ladies of BASF TC Ludwigshafen! The decisive double match day in the second tennis Bundesliga is on Friday, June 12, 2025, and the Ludwigshafen women even have a minimal chance of winning the title. The home game against Tennis 65 Eschborn starts at 1 p.m., followed by an away game against the Manching tennis team on Sunday at 11 a.m. But in order to make their dream of a second division title come true, the BASF women not only have to win both matches, but they also have to rely on support Rhine Palatinate reported.

The situation is exciting: Second-placed Vaihingen/Rohr, against whom they have often had close matches in the past, absolutely have to win against league leaders Heidelberg and at the same time make sure that they do not collect too many points against bottom team TK Grün-Weiss Mannheim. The Ludwigshafen women have shown a solid performance this season and are in second place with four wins and two defeats, ahead of the tied TC Olympia Lorsch RLP Tennis noted.

Impressions from the season

In the season so far, the BASF women have played exciting games, with four out of six games fortunately ending with a narrow result of 5:4 or 4:5. The highlights include the victories against the Munich insurance brokers and GW Luitpoldpark Munich. But the defeats of 4:5 against the strong TC Radolfzell and against the TC Olympia Lorsch were painful.

Katharina Hobgarski showed a real brilliant performance, winning all her matches, both singles and doubles, without losing a set. The team has firmly established itself in the top three of the Second League South since 2014 and will again be led this season by coach Steffen Neutert, who is planning a “very German-oriented line-up” for the home game and will enable the spectators to say goodbye to the players.

The decisive weekend

The last home game against Eschborn is special because the guests are under pressure themselves: they need one more win to stay in the league. And the away game against Manching will also be a relaxed affair for the team, while the hosts hope for a turnaround in order to secure relegation in league one.

The BASF women are optimistic and hope for numerous supporters to accompany them in the decisive games. Tickets are available at the box office, and members and children up to 14 years of age can watch the games free of charge. The price for adults is 10 euros, reduced 5 euros, as on the website of LU Tennis is to be experienced.

It remains exciting until the last minute, and BASF TC Ludwigshafen is hoping for an exciting and successful weekend!
