Volleyball sensation: Rotenburg challenges league leaders Mörfelden!
Next Saturday at 7 p.m., TG Rotenburg will storm into the volleyball league again in the Bernhard-Faust-Halle, against league leaders SKV Mörfelden. According to a report by HNA The signs are good for a thrilling top game, because Rotenburg has won four of its five previous matches and is coming into the duel with a lot of confidence. The only defeat came against TSV Hanau, and the players have been eager to prove themselves ever since.
Mörfelden, on the other hand, is sitting at the top of the table and has only lost one set in the last five games. The preseason was also impressive for the team, they finished fourth and won both games against Rotenburg by a narrow 3-2. In the current season, however, there was already a repetition of this rivalry, which was also decided in the tiebreak in favor of Mörfelden. TGR trainer Elli Rauch reported that the opponent was particularly noticeable because of his strong attack and blocking.
Training preparation and squad
The TG Rotenburg worked intensively on solutions for stressful situations during training. These improvements are urgently needed because, as already mentioned, the enemies are not an easy nut to crack. However, the Rotenburgers have to do without Melanie Savci, while Heide Aust and Anne Wulkau are back in the squad and give the team additional strength. This could give an additional boost in the Bernhard-Faust-Halle, where home games are always well attended. This atmosphere could be crucial to achieve a win against Mörfelden.
There is also good news from TG Rotenburg itself: in the current 2024/2025 season they have already secured at least second place in the league and thus secured participation in the promotion games. The decisive win came on Saturday evening against TSV Hanau with a 3:2 (15:25, 25:23, 21:25, 25:19, 15:10). Interim coach Heide Aust expressed herself positively about the team's constant improvement in performance and particularly points to the morale of the players and the support of the fans as essential factors that contributed to the success, as the TG Rotenburg website also documents: tg-rotenburg.de.
A look at the records
So we can only hope that TG Rotenburg can win the home game this Saturday and treat the fans to passionate volleyball again! It's not just about points, but also about the honor of standing up to a strong rival.
