Groß -Gerau: Impulses for a lively future - citizens are actively discussing!

Groß-Gerau, Deutschland - The city of Groß-Gerau on July 2, 2025 organized a lively panel discussion under the title "Take a say. Participate. Thogging-future in our district town". Originally planned in the city museum, the event moved to the shady beer garden of the "old court" due to the summer temperatures. The well -organized discussion, moderated by Angela Matthies, the initiator of the accompanying exhibition "GG - My Label", offered the citizens the opportunity to actively participate in the design of their city. The motto of the event meant not only an invitation to the dialogue, but a clear sign of the connection of the city community.

With a creative entry through the urban economist and poetry Slammer Sebastian Hauf, who praised the variety of Groß-Ger from in his impressive contribution "My Habitat", the evening began particularly emotionally. Hauf encouraged those present to contribute their own ideas and perspectives on urban development. He set an important guiding principle of the discussion: everyone can get involved and contribute their voice.

diverse voices for a better future

Sitting on the podium on the podium - including Mayor Jörg Rüddenklau, climate activist Sabine Ziegler, city councilor Abraham Naduvilezhath, local journalist Jörg Monzheimer and the pastor Josephine Haas. All participants were in common: they are passionate about a future-proof and worth living in Groß-Gerau. Mayor Rüddenklau Highlighted the importance of a lively culture of dispute in which different opinions have space. "We have to listen and act with the heart," said Naduvilezhath. Ziegler emphasized the need for networking between different initiatives to become active together.

The audience was enthusiastic about the entire discussion and took part. Questions were answered and new ideas were presented, which made the event a real forum for exchange of views and ideas. The positive response encouraged the organizers to offer further formats of this kind in the future in order to continue to promote dialogue in the city.

long -term perspectives for urban development

A central focus of the discussion was sustainable urban development, which looks beyond current projects. Ideas and needs of the entire urban society should be taken seriously-an approach that is also becoming increasingly important in the Federal Center for Political Education. The shift towards sustainable handling of our urban resources is not only necessary, but also required by the citizens who expect better living conditions in the city.

In order to meet the challenges of urbanization, aspects such as social justice and ecological responsibility must go hand in hand. A large number of aspects should be considered: from the quality of the air to future living conditions to the requirements, which are placed in particular by climate change. As the Green Groß-Gerau, the sustainable urban development must not only remain a keyword, but must also be actively implemented in practice.

The lively discussion in Groß-Gerau shows how important it is to hear all voices of the city society and to work together on solutions for the future. The city has the potential to be a functioning model for sustainable urban development - if the citizens continue to have a say, participate in the citizens.
