The new President Michael Nicolaisen heads Rotary Club Dieburg-Babenhausen!

Dieburg, Deutschland - The Rotary Club Community in Dieburg and Babenhausen has a new president: Michael Nicolaisen takes over the office for the Rotarian year 2025/2026. The ceremonial handover took place in the cozy angler home on Haselsee, where his predecessor Ulrich Burbaum looked back on an exciting year. Under the motto "climate change and energy transition", they found many events and lectures that found great interest in the region, such as main-echo.de

The public castle discussion in September, which dealt with the challenges of climate change, was particularly remarkable. Burbaum and his team have realized a variety of activities this year. Among other things, there was a program for finding a job at the Alfred Delp School, where practical reports from experts actively address the students.

international exchange experiences

The Rotarische exchange program is also very popular. Fiona Krapp, a young participant, spent a whole year in Japan. Your experiences show how valuable such intercultural encounters can be. Fynn Fetzer and Finnja Silem were adopted to Finland and Brazil for holiday exchanges, while a Finnish student and a Brazilian are taken up by hospitable families here in the region.

The variety of camps that are offered by the Rotary exchange every year is impressive. Not only sports are offered here, but also cultural, linguistic and historical topics are covered, as can be found on Rotary-ausch.de. The annual list of camps will be published from November and contains all the important information that interested parties need to apply.

commitment and social projects

The club's social projects show how committed the members are. An absolute highlight was the participation in the Dieburger Glücktalermarkt, which led to a gratifying donation result. In the past ten years, the Rotarians have distributed over 8,000 reading books as part of the 4-L project at schools in the region.

The creation of a dental station in Kisuma, Kenya, is progressing - over 10,000 euros were collected. Another successful fundraising event was the Glücksei lottery at Easter, which earned an impressive 11,000 euros for the projects of the club. A big thank you goes to the organizer Tanja Roth and everyone who has actively committed.

The Rotary Club Community remains a supporting pillar of social life in Dieburg and Babenhausen, and it can be interesting to see which new ideas Michael Nicolaisen will implement as the new president. It is clear: there is a lot of development potential here, and preparation for the upcoming challenges is already in full swing!
