Ebersburg-Ried and Hilders triumph in fire brigade competition!
This year's Hessian fire service exercise took place in Kassel last weekend. 19 fire brigade teams from North-East Hesse competed to demonstrate their skills. The event was very well received and was organized by the Kassel regional council. The competition between two teams that tied for first place was particularly exciting: Ebersburg-Ried and Hilders-Eckweisbach/Liebhards/Unterbernhards, both with an excellent 98.3 out of 100 points.
The winners from Ebersburg-Ried, consisting of Nina Schmidt, Niklas Schmidt, Marco Keidel, Sabrina Happ, Nino Bönisch and numerous other committed members, can look forward to the Dr. Walter Lübcke challenge cup. District President Mark Weinmeister was also pleased with the firefighters' performance and noted their great commitment and motivation. Training leader Thomas Finis emphasized the high level of the exams and praised the excellent training of the fire department members. This combination of theoretical knowledge and practical experience is crucial for fire service work.
First-class achievements in theory and practice
The exercise consisted of a theoretical part with 15 questions about firefighting and a practical exercise that prepared the participants for a relaxed response to a hazardous substance leak in an industrial environment. The entire test was tricky and placed high demands on the teams. In the event of a tie on points, as occurred between Ebersburg-Ried and Hilders-ELU, the number of correct knots and the knot time counted towards the decision on placement.
In total, five of the best six teams qualified for the state finals on August 31st in Lorsch. In addition to the first two, the teams from Eichenzell, Nüsttal and Flieden are also on the list of new challengers. The team from Nüsttal-Gotthards had already secured first place in the district decision in May and is also a strong team that ensures exciting competitions.
A look into the future
The next steps for the successful teams include intensive preparation for the state finals. Andreas Baumgarten, the military leader of the winning team, emphasizes that the close cooperation and the harmonious team atmosphere were essential for the success so far. The Hilders-ELU team is also looking forward to the challenges ahead and emphasizes how important the right preparation is.
The fire brigade performance exercises in Hesse not only offer the opportunity to qualify, but also strengthen the community spirit within the fire departments. This geographical division into district, district and state competitions enables fire departments from all corners of Hesse to show their skills and develop themselves further in order to always be ready for action.
The competition not only shows the excellent skills of the firefighters, but also how important exchange and cooperation in the community is. The state fire brigade school remains a central partner that creates the best conditions for training.
But it's not just the winning teams that stand out, the entire event also accumulated positive feedback from all sides: fire department members, referees and spectators were unanimous in their opinion that the Hessian fire service exercise was a complete success. East Hesse News and RP Kassel report on impressive achievements and exciting breathing exercises, which represent an important basis for further challenges.
