New passenger advisory board in the Vogelsberg district: applications by November 16th!

The future of local public transport (ÖPNV) in the Vogelsberg district is on the agenda because the Oberhessen transport company (VGO) has re-established the passenger advisory board for the district. Interested citizens have untilNovember 16, 2025Time to apply and take an active part in shaping local transport. The advisory board, which has existed since 1994, is the link between passengers and the VGO and is committed to user-friendly improvements to public transport services.

The Vogelsberg district is a rural region with many communities in which public transport is often poorly developed. The Passenger Advisory Board is therefore an important body that takes into account the concerns of people who rely on local public transport. The aim is to bring public transport back to a usable level after the massive cuts that took place after the global economic crisis of 2008/2009. The focus is particularly on this Vogelsbergbahn Gießen-Fulda, which represents a central connection in the district.

Application and opportunities to get involved

With less than two weeks until the deadline – the VGO is specifically calling on citizens to apply. We are looking for people with their main or second residence in the Vogelsberg district who would like to regularly take part in public advisory board meetings. Applications must contain a short application with last name, first name, age, place of residence, profession and personal reasons.

The term of office of the members is four years, and if there are more than 14 applications, participation will be decided by lottery. The constituent meeting of the new passenger advisory board will take place onNovember 24thfrom 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Adolf-Spieß-Halle in Lauterbach.
