Raise your cups and get going! The 11th Rotenburg Beach Festival Run on July 6, 2025 was a complete success and gave the 510 runners an unforgettable day. Organized by the LC Marathon Rotenburg, the participants gathered under the best conditions: sunshine and a good atmosphere determined the events in the historic old town. The record participation is a good sign that the desire to run is popular again after the Corona break. Loud HNA First chairman Oliver Weber was pleased with the successful outcome and the pleasing fact that no significant injuries were reported.

In recent years, the beach festival run has been considered an event in which not only sportiness counts, but also the fun of exercise is in the foreground. This was also confirmed by the not insignificant number of participants who ventured onto the route in colorful running outfits and costumes. The Bambinis started free of charge and received a certificate and a medal, while students and young people benefited from low entry fees.[ HDSports ]

The competitions in detail

Overall, an exciting program was offered, starting with the little ones, who gave their best in the Bambini race (490 meters). Casper Neumann from the Albert Schweitzer School won here, followed by Elian Willich and Noel Schneider. Juna Merthen was the fastest among the girls. All participants received a medal, and Lotta Sophie Sinning and Liara Schöpf were also able to cross the finish line hand in hand.

The student run over 1248 meters was also very well received. Theo Marschall and Hannah Aslan were celebrated as winners. Philipp Stuckhardt from the Kassel running team won the elite run over 1,609 kilometers with a time of 4:40 minutes.

A very special highlight was the beer mile, in which 30 men and one woman – Marie Bämpfer – took part. Theodor Reichardt from the Rotenburg Study Center secured victory here, which underlined the high entertainment value and the happy atmosphere of the event. The participants also worked with passion in the main run of 7.66 kilometers. Christian Schögin proved his strength and crossed the finish line first, more than a minute ahead. Tina Obermüller triumphed among the women.

Team and walking competitions

Also worth a look is the 4.66 kilometer team run, which attracted 30 teams and a total of 135 runners. With the applause of the spectators, it was a spectacle in which the teams from LC Marathon Rotenburg & Triathlon Hessen and TSV Obervorschütz crossed the finish line in under 20 minutes.
It should also be noted that the Rotenburg fire department came in full emergency gear, a real highlight of the day of the event.

In the walking area, TV Eitra's triple success was remarkable, while the oldest participant, Dieter Mahr, earned the respect of the viewers at the proud age of 82.

The event took place as part of the local festival “Strandfest” and allowed spectators to loudly support their favorites from the sides. The digital one DLV running calendar offers an overview of many such events that are popular attractions for sports enthusiasts in Germany and beyond.
