Premiere of the comedy Art”: Quarrel and friendship in Eichhof Castle!

On July 19, 2025 the time has come: The Bad Hersfeld Festival invites you to the premiere of the comedy “Art” by Yasmina Reza in the picturesque ambience of Eichhof Castle. The performance begins at 8:30 p.m. and promises to be a highlight of this year's festival. During the two hours that the performance lasts - including a 30-minute intermission - the audience can expect an amusing and thoughtful piece that tests the friendship of three men.

The plot revolves around dermatologist and art collector Serge, played by Christian Nickel, who makes an expensive purchase - an all-white painting entitled "White Painting with White Stripes". However, his friend Marc, an engineer, sees the whole thing completely differently and harshly describes Serge's purchase as “shit”. The third member of the group, Yvan (played by Bijan Zamani), stands between the two and tries to mediate the argument while he himself prepares for a possible wedding.

A successful direction and a recurring stage design

The production is directed by Antoine Uitdehaag, who has already impressed in the past with his feeling for something special. The audience can look forward to the tried and tested stage design, which was already used in the previous production “God of Carnage”. Pauline Mainzer supports the creative team as assistant director. The performances will take place not only today, but on a total of 18 evenings until August 16, 2025 at Eichhof Castle.
