Hessentag 2025: Big festival in Bad Vilbel starts tomorrow!
Hessentag 2025 has opened and Bad Vilbel is showing off its best side! On Friday, June 13, 2025, the starting signal will be given for the oldest and largest state festival in Germany, which is taking place in Bad Vilbel for the first time this year. At 1:00 p.m. there was a ceremonial opening at the Sparkasse Wasserburg, where Prime Minister Boris Rhein (CDU) officially launched the festival together with Mayor Sebastian Wysocki. The charm of the town on the banks of the Nidda is underlined by the idyllic location and the picturesque remains of the moated castle, which has breathed history for centuries. Here, in a place that beats the heart of tradition, the first visitors have gathered to take part in one of the many events.
Already on the first day, various program items meant there was no chance of boredom. There was a lot to discover from morning to evening: The Bundeswehr exhibition opened its doors from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and offered interesting insights for young and old. The opening day was rounded off with a concert by the band “Balu” and the popular FFH Comedy Night at 8 p.m., which caused a lot of laughter. For all partygoers, the festival offers a first foretaste of the diversity that is to come.
An exciting program for young and old
The fun continues! On Saturday, June 14th, things will get musically exciting with a concert by Ski Aggu at 7:00 p.m., followed by the planet radio party at 8:00 p.m. The band's calls and the good atmosphere will also attract many people here. In addition, numerous activities and exhibitions for all age groups are planned throughout the week, so that no one will miss out.
A special highlight awaits visitors on Sunday, June 15th: the appearance of Howard Carpendale, whose tickets are already in high demand. But that was just the beginning! A varied program is on the agenda for the following days. The musical greats who will be on stage include Nina Chuba, Leony and Judas Priest. Traditional elements shouldn't be missing here either: FFH's Just White Party will be the highlight of Hessentag on June 21st.
The meaning of Hesse Day
Hessentag celebrates closeness to home, cosmopolitanism and the diversity of our culture. A festival of community is celebrated over ten days that connects people in this country. Volunteers are the heart of the event and are referred to as the “soul of Hessentag”. Hessentag brings tradition and innovation together and offers everyone who wants to take part a piece of home.
So it's no surprise that Bad Vilbel offers the perfect backdrop for such an event. In addition to the festivities at the historic location, which served as the residence of the Knights of Vilbel in the High Middle Ages, modern facilities such as the VILCO, a concert and congress hall, ensure a varied program. Pop, rock and more are offered here, so that both lovers of classical concerts and fans of modern shows get their money's worth.
A visit to Hessentag is not only an invitation to exchange ideas with one another, but also a chance to celebrate the beauty and diversity of Hesse. Bad Vilbel shows its best side at every step, and the anticipation for the coming days grows with every visit the city receives.
