Fulda University of Applied Sciences celebrates 40 years of university days: a festival of the encounter!
What an occasion! The Fulda University of Applied Sciences is celebrating a very special anniversary this year: 40 years of university days. From Thursday to Saturday, the campus turns into a colorful festival that attracts young and old. According to Osthessen News are expected to look forward to an exciting program. Music, culture, cuisine - there is something for everyone here!
The event is one of the largest student events in the region and offers numerous opportunities for encounter. The students have put a lot of effort into doing an unforgettable experience. It is not only a festival, but also a sign of the living university culture and the exchange between students and the public.
A reason to celebrate for the university
But not only the university days themselves are a reason to celebrate. As part of the anniversary festivities, 26 scholarship holders were recently honored, including four from the Health Sciences Department. This solemn ceremony took place on the campus on November 21, 2022 and was aimed at the recipients of the Deutschlandstipendium, which has existed for ten years now. The association of friends and sponsors of the Fulda University of Applied Sciences played a crucial role as a source of financing. A total of 254 scholarships have been awarded over the past ten years, which illustrates how important this support is for the students.
Professor Dr. Karim Khakzar, the President of the Fulda University, thanked the sponsors in his speech and emphasized how valuable the scholarship holders are for the region. The Germany scholarship not only promotes above -average gifted students, but also those who are socially committed. These receive 300 euros per month, half of which come from the federal government and the other half of private sponsors.
scholarship holders and their fields
The four scholarship holders from the Health Sciences Department are:
- Luisa Gerstendörfer (B.Sc. Physiotherapy, Dual)
- Larissa Nees (B.Sc. Health Promotion)
- Sophie Rothenbuch (B.Sc. International Health Sciences)
- niklas Schütz (M.Sc. Public Health)
The scholarships not only open up financial support to the students, but also access to a valuable network for contact connections for later professional life. This way of thinking, to combine talented individuals with sponsors and the civil society point, can also be seen at other universities, such as at the Heinrich-Heine University Düsseldorf with their Deutschlandstipendium, who also supports powerful students.
The upcoming university days at the Fulda University of Applied Sciences are therefore all about community and support. This will not only be an unforgettable event for the students and alumni, but for the entire region. In any case, a wonderful opportunity to find out about the offer of the university and be inspired.
