The Waldeck-Frankenberg job center in Korbach is facing an exciting new beginning, as the big move to the new building at Medebacher Landstrasse 30 is planned for June 13, 2025. The 62 employees of the job center are to move in completely here. The old building on Louis-Peter-Straße will remain closed until the grand opening day for customers and visitors on June 16th. Because the old building, which has been around for over 70 years, is no longer up to date. The challenges of the digital future required extensive adaptation that was simply not possible in the old building. The decision not to pursue the renovation of the old building came with a change in strategy. The then district administrator had previously proposed integrating the job center into a new administration building at Südring 3 in 2019, but this was not implemented. Instead, the district administration sold a neighboring property, which paved the way for the new building. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on March 26, 2024 and the contract was advertised in autumn 2021.
