Schwalmstadt-Treysa, Deutschland - What a festival! The wine village at the Totenkirche in Treysa has already celebrated its 29th edition from July 10th to 13th, 2025 and established itself as an integral part of Hesse's event calendar. The premiere of the wine village took place 30 years ago at the Hessentag, and since then it has become a highlight in the Schwalmstadt annual calendar. Hundreds of visitors flocked to this special event on Saturday evening to enjoy wine, tarte flambée and the musical sounds of "Maus Acoustics" and "Christian Bergmann and the North Hesse Drei".

The event offers a unique atmosphere in the middle of the ruins of the Totenkirche. Winemakers from the Rheingau presented their best wines, secco and sparkling wine, while the lovers were also caused by culinary delights. Flammkuchen, cheese variations and grill classics arrived at the guests. Franziska Gonther from WTS city marketing was enthusiastic about the positive number of visitors and the still high interest in the festival.

The trend in the wines clearly shows: lovely wines and those with low acidity are very popular. Visitors appreciate the family, peaceful ambience; As the longest -serving winemaker Werner Gerhard from the Leon Gerhard Gerhard from Hattenheim winery reports, many regular guests come year after year.

The musical program was mixed, and the opening evening with the Rheingau wine queen and Mayor Tobias Kreuter also formed a festive start. Although the first event of the wine village asked for a ticket price of 5 euros for the afterwork party, the entry on Sunday, which started with a festival service, was free. In addition to the morning pint, a multicultural festival of the encounter was planned for Sunday, which attended visitors with live music by Acoustic Six.

The wine village on the church church remains a place of sociable coexistence and joy. With a program that offers something for every taste, people are magically attracted. "The ambience here is simply unbeatable," said many guests who were able to talk and dine excellently. And the anticipation is also great for the next year: in 2026 the 30th edition of the festival, for which further highlights and surprises are planned.
