Melsungen, Deutschland - Melsungen has big plans in the pipeline! As part of the village development program, the city will implement extensive projects in the coming years, which are intended to notify the quality of life in the districts. According to a report by HNA , the responsible persons have already determined the first projects from the Hessian Ministry Cover from 4.4 million euros.

The good news is that the country will cover 60% of the eligible costs. For this purpose, the relevant project sketches are currently being worked on for the tender. A Europe -wide tender is not necessary, which accelerates the process considerably. The notices for the financing were preserved at the beginning of July this year, so that the awarding of the orders to the planning offices will be sought until the beginning of August.

In the next two years, the focus is on planning and preparation. The entire planning phase will take three years and the construction work is usually expected two years after the planning has been completed. The temporal perspective of the village development ranges until 2028, with projects planned in 2023 such as the new buildings of village community houses in Obermelsungen and Röhrenfurth.

Also on the list of projects are important measures such as the wall renovation "Unter den Linden" in Günsterode, the renewal of the village square in Kehrenbach and the improvement of accessibility at the station to move in Schwarzenberg. In the following years, those responsible also plan projects such as the redesign of the village fountain in Röhrenfurth and a new playground in Obermelsungen. The aim is to strengthen the independence of the districts and create future -proof development perspectives. The integrated municipal development concept (IKEK) forms the basis for these projects and was developed in close cooperation with the citizens.

Citizen participation remains central

The participation of the citizens is an elementary part of the entire development. Already at the first public kick -off event on April 4, 2022, ideas and suggestions were collected to give the citizens a say in the design of their surroundings. The results of this participation flow directly into the implementation of the identified fields of action, which should significantly increase citizen satisfaction.

The challenges that demographic development brings, as well as questions of infrastructure and climate protection are at the top of the agenda. The city of Melsungen thus takes on a pioneering role in the rural development of Hesse and shows how community commitment and strategic planning can be brought together.
