Saint Hubertus service in Immenhausen: tradition meets festive singing!
Next Sunday, November 9th, the traditional Hubertus service will take place in the St. George Church in Immenhausen, to which the Hofgeismar district hunting club invites you. The service honors the patron saint of hunters, Hubertus - a custom that looks back on a proud tradition of over 200 years. The service begins at 11 a.m. and promises to be a festive event.
A specially founded project choir with 25 singers, whose members also belong to the Kassel Fleischerchor, will provide a musical atmosphere. Under the direction of Michael Haag, the choir members will perform songs such as “Waldlust” and the “Festive Fanfare”. In addition, the members of the club's wind corps have been rehearsing for weeks in order to appropriately showcase the old four-part fanfares.
A service with loving traditions
As part of the service, the legend of Saint Hubert is read out and a decorated antler with a cross is placed next to the altar. It is also interesting that Saint Hubert's name day falls on November 3rd, which is why church services are traditionally scheduled during this period. Uwe Groß, the chairman of the association, even suggested holding the celebrations in the evenings, but this was not possible due to scheduling difficulties.
After the religious part, the service will end with a snack and nice conversation, so that visitors can round off the day in a relaxed atmosphere and in the spirit of community. Tetlef Althaus will also act as a lector, giving the service a personal touch.
A stimulus for urban growth
However, there are challenges in developing the island. The route via Gartenfelder Straße is not sufficient for a new urban district with up to 7,400 residents. A new main road as well as public transport connections via tram lines and cycle paths with new bridge connections are planned. Particularly noteworthy are the efforts to take into account the biodiversity and protected biotopes in this region. This could serve as a model for urban developments and lead to a better integration of living space and nature.
The preparations for the St. Hubertus service are in full swing, while at the same time visionary plans are being made in Berlin to create spaces for quality of life and community. Both show how important tradition and innovation are for our society.
