Howling engines and great performance: 100 years of MSC Wolfhagen!
On June 16, 2025, hot engines and happy faces came together in Wolfhagen as the Motorsport Club (MSC) Wolfhagen celebrated its 100th anniversary. As part of this anniversary, an exciting ADAC Hessen-Thuringia Youth Kart Championship tournament took place, in which almost 100 participants got into the karts in tropical temperatures. The course stretched over around 800 meters and placed high demands on the young drivers' skill, physical fitness, reaction speed and muscle strength.
Participation in the competitions also included a technical inspection of the karts, which took place before the first race. There were numerous pylons and gates set up along the route that had to be overcome in the slalom. Judges, who are often parents and members of the club, ensured that everything was fair and monitored the drivers for possible mistakes. The event lasted almost seven hours and all five age groups were successfully completed, a testament to the excellent organization by those responsible at MSC Wolfhagen, as HNA reports.
Results and joy among the participants
The performances of the young drivers were impressive. In class 3, Niklas Steinhof from MSC Wolfhagen took third place. In Class 1, Polina Zolotov and Pepe Kaczmarek took second and third place. The start in class 2a was particularly exciting, where Hannes Göbel showed himself tirelessly and secured first place without making any mistakes. For the very young drivers there was also class 0, in which one participant gained his first experience in karting. The results not only reflect the talent of the drivers, but also the great work of MSC Wolfhagen, whose youth leader Christian Steinhof was satisfied with the results.
The event was not only a sporting competition, but also an occasion for celebration in the community. The 100th birthday celebrations took place on the same evening at the DGH in Ippinghausen. The day was rounded off with sporting successes and social gatherings. The MSC Wolfhagen, which was founded in 1925 and is one of the active local clubs of the ADAC Hessen-Thuringia in the Kassel district, lived its tradition and hospitality on this day.
The MSC Wolfhagen at a glance
With over 14 active young drivers, the MSC Wolfhagen offers skill sports with motorized karts for the whole family. The club has developed steadily since its founding thanks to committed board members, such as first chairman Rico Meise and youth leader Christian Steinhof, and is also planning numerous events in the future to get young people excited about karting. On June 14, 2025, not only was the youth kart slalom on the program, but also a bicycle fair in the Güde car dealership, which always attracts high demand and provides another sociable atmosphere, as can be read on the MSC Wolfhagen website.
The skills that are trained in karting not only promote skill, but also concentration and team spirit. The first event as part of the anniversary celebration was a complete success and left us wanting more. As with a previous event in Nohra, in which more than 250 children and young people from 17 ADAC regional associations took part, youth promotion is also very important in Wolfhagen. The many positive feedback shows that this commitment has found fertile ground and that the enthusiasm for motorsport will live on in the region, as has the success at previous tournaments such as the ADAC Federal Final in 2015 proves.
