On Monday, October 20th, a breath of fresh air will hit the bakery scene in Kaufungen. The traditional one opens in the premises of the Edeka market Amthor Bakery, which replaces the former Apel bakery. The Amthor bakery, a family business that has existed since 1899, is now run by Marcel Simon in the fifth generation. Originally founded in Trendelburg, the company based in Hofgeismar has made a name for itself in northern Hesse, southern Lower Saxony and eastern North Rhine-Westphalia. The new branch marks the 20th opening in the company's history.
After the previous bakery's lease expired, the sales rooms were empty for about four weeks before the renovation began on October 6th. This includes a complete renovation of the interior and will offer a cozy area with tables and seating. Marcel Simon is confident about the success of the new branch, which has already received great popularity.
A range for every taste
Amthor Bakery is not only committed to quality, but also to variety. 20 different breakfast pastries are offered every day, complemented by 15 pastry products and 18 types of bread - a true land of milk and honey for culinary delights. The company is particularly proud of Gustav bread, a recipe that was passed down from great-great-grandfather Gustav Amthor. In addition to the traditional delicacies, new culinary creations such as Kaiser rolls, sweet snacks and cakes from our own pastry shop are also waiting to be discovered. The goal is clear: to offer something to suit every appetite and taste.
