Career orientation center opens the door to new opportunities for young people!
In the Kassel district, the career orientation center (BOZ) will open its doors on Saturday, June 28, 2025. The event will take place as usual from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Karl-Heinz-Fräger-Straße 1 in Immenhausen. Here, students from the 7th grade onwards, as well as young adults, have the opportunity to find out first-hand information about various professional fields and to network with regional companies. The BOZ sees itself as a true meeting platform for cross-industry training marketing that not only offers information, but also opens up exciting perspectives.
Visitors can look forward to practical insights into a variety of areas. The professional fields represented include gastronomy, the health and social sector, commercial and digital professions, metal, mechatronics, sanitary heating and air conditioning, logistics, medical technology and modern crafts in construction. Vehicle technology will also be presented. This diversity makes it clear that career orientation can be colorful and comprehensive!
Career guidance for all age groups
An important aspect of career orientation takes place early on. Towards the end of their school years, many students ask themselves about their career path. To support this process, the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) launched the educational chains initiative, which has been supporting young people as they enter professional life since 2010. Various programs are offered that focus on the talents and interests of young people. An example of this are the potential analyzes that are carried out in the 7th grade and practice-oriented career orientation days in the 8th grade.
The importance of career information centers (BiZ) should also not be underestimated. These can be found all over Germany and are a valuable resource for young people. They not only offer useful tests and information on choosing a career, but also special computer workstations for job searching, support with applications and specialists who are available to answer questions. As arbeitsagentur.de reports, young people can access a wealth of information about careers, training opportunities and schools in the region here.
Diverse offers for career orientation
The BOZ, supported by various initiatives, counteracts the shortage of skilled workers and offers a wide range of programs aimed at young people. In addition to the offers already mentioned, there are numerous others, such as the BMBF-funded project “VerOnika up!”, which provides insights into MINT and social professions, or the Clichefrei initiative, which aims to break down gender stereotypes when choosing a career. These various offers are aimed at a broad audience and show how diverse and accessible the path to the professional world can be.
With these initiatives and events such as the open day at the BOZ, it is clear that a lot of attention is being paid to the topic of career orientation. The aim is to offer young people stable prospects and to provide them with the best possible support in finding a career. This is not only an opportunity for the young people themselves, but also for the region's companies, who can attract new talent for their industry.
