Next Sunday, July 2, 2025, Karben's citizens can expect a very special musical event: the open-air concert in the idyllic parish garden of St. Michaelis. Organized by the brass department of the Bad Vilbel and Karben music school, this event not only promises a festival for the ears, but also a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the community.

The visitors, whether children, young people or adults, can look forward to a colorful program. It starts with Martin Krämer's trumpet students with a rousing polka that will put the audience in the right mood. After that, the brass ensemble "Karben Brass" under the direction of Simon Gößling will be opened with "Wachet, calls us the voice" from a Bach cantata.

After the first sounds fied away, the students of Veronika Hanrath present a Saxophonduo with a passionate Mexican tango. The Fagotten ensemble, under the direction of Annette Pulheim, will then perform a contemporary Scherzo, which will certainly provide many surprises.

The flute and Harfenduett by Jeanne Hagdorn and Marlene Goettgens, which perform a piece by Turlough O’Carolan, is particularly noteworthy. This delicate arrangement of the piece offers a nice repetition of the melody in higher locations and is perfect for a concert setting.

In the further course of the concert, an oboen student from Berit Backhaus will present baroque music, followed by a woodwind ensemble under Ute Jakobi, which comes up with a suite of German folk songs by Scott Johnson. To the crowning glory, the jazz ensemble 07 under the direction of Bernd Stoll with pieces of greats such as Thelonious Monk, Bernie Miller, Lee Morgan and Charles Mingus will create an exuberant atmosphere. A colorful mix that not only combines tradition, but also modern sounds!

The event takes place in a particularly beautiful environment, surrounded by light linden and oak trees that are contributed to the cosiness of the occasion.
