Solemn sporting event in Karben: 77 years SKG Okarben!

On the last weekends, there was a party in Karben. The SKG Okarben e.V. celebrated its 77th anniversary with a great festive event at the old sports field. As the fnp organized the celebrations that started on Friday evening with honors and dance appearances. The guests were able to look back on a moving club history that is shaped with a lot of passion and commitment.

The highlight of the celebration was the human ticker tournament on Saturday, which was initiated by the Elferrat. This special game works similarly to table football, but with real players who are fixed on poles. The participants competed with a lot of skill and team spirit, with each team consisting of five players and a goalkeeper and had a ten -minute playing time each. Player change is possible here after consultation with the referee, and a costume price caused additional fun.

support for the youth

An important aspect of the event was the proceeds that will flow into the child and youth work of the association. With currently 333 members and one of the largest departments, the carnival department with more than 200 members, the SKG Okarben has an important place in local club life. Anke Merten's initiative, which was launched in 2015, offers disadvantaged children and adults the opportunity to experience free quad rides. This valuable support ensures that youth work in the club is lived not only in theory, but also in practice.

In addition, volunteers offered quad rides for the little ones at the event and a bouncy castle provided a exuberant mood. A poster was also set up among the visitors that pointed out the need for donations for a family with a disabled child. The required amount of over 50,000 euros is necessary to create a disabled living area.
