Except in Friedberg: Snowing fights, theft and accidents!
Lately, crime has increased again in the region, which the police have called on the scene. In Friedberg and the surrounding cities in particular, there were several incidents that alert the local population. The palette of current events ranges from thefts to accidents.
The numerous e-scooter thefts in Bad Vilbel are particularly striking. Between June 13 and 15, 2025, several copies were stolen. On Friday, June 13, an e-scooter in the outdoor pool was affected with a value of around 400 euros. On the following days, two more e-scooters with a total value of around 1,600 euros were stolen both in the outdoor pool and Niddastraße. An e-scooter from the thieves gang also fell victim to the Karben-Kloppenheim train station, the value of which is estimated at around 600 euros. The Bad Vilbel police are now looking for witnesses and gives recommendations to secure e-scooters on their website to prevent similar incidents. Another difficult situation occurred in Friedberg, where a fight occurred on June 14th. A previously unknown perpetrator beat a 35-year-old Afghan who suffered head injuries as a result of the attack and had to be taken to the hospital by means of a rescue helicopter. The police publish a description of the perpetrator: the suspect is said to be about 180 cm tall and muscular, plus an earth-colored T-shirt. Here, too, new witnesses are urgently asked to report, on 06031/601-0.
A traffic accident on June 15, 2025 in Wölfersheim also caused numerous moments of fright. A 51-year-old driver of a blue VW Golf overlooked an oncoming Renault Twingo when turning. The collision on the B455 led to several mild injuries, including the driver of the Golf and the 41-year-old Renault driver and its 17-year-old passenger. Rescue paramedics were quickly on site, but the vehicles did not remain ready to drive, which made a towing service necessary. Meanwhile, the fire brigade took care of the expiring operating materials. Here, too, the police ask for other witnesses who could provide valuable information.
The numbers speak for themselves
The increased incidents of this kind are in a larger context of crime development in Germany. According to the Statista, around 1.78 million thefts were recorded by the police in 2022, an increase in the previous year. The thefts of motor vehicles and bicycles in particular are among the most common offenses. This shows that the topic of security and theft of property must currently be taken seriously.
The population of Friedberg and the surrounding places is required to be vigilant. The police are still looking for clues and called on the local community to actively participate in the clarification of the crimes. So stay attentive and help you make your neighborhood safer.
