Bad Vilbel, Deutschland - On June 27, 2025, the time had come again: The Wetteraukreis awarded the volunteer card as part of the Hessentag in Bad Vilbel. A total of 162 cards were spent on committed citizens: on the inside, and 56 of them were personally present to receive their wages for years of free commitment. District Administrator Jan Weckler proudly handed over the cards and emphasized the immense importance of the volunteer in the region.
The festival in Bad Vilbel not only offered a ceremonial award, but also a meeting point for exchange and encounter. On the stage "Treffpunkt Hessen", some of the honored presented their commitment in various areas, be it in sports, culture, social projects or nature conservation. The event was also supported by the Sparkasse Oberhessen, which organized a "Get Together" in the Hessentag café.
