Children's city Bad Nauheim: Mayor celebrates creative future designers!
In the past two weeks, the Frauenwaldhalle in Nieder-Mörl has mutated into a pulsating center for over 200 children aged six to twelve. As part of the holiday games of the “Alte Feuerwache” children's and youth center, a colorful children's city was launched here, which not only offers a lot of fun for the small participants, but also prepared them in a playful way for important social issues. Mayor Klaus Kreß and first city councilor Peter Krank visited the extraordinary city on July 17th and were visibly impressed by the creative solutions that the children had worked out. Bad Nauheim reports .
The children's city is more than just a playground. Here the children are actively slipped into the roles of different professions - be it as a baker, filmmaker or garbage collection employee. You not only learned a lot about the different activities, but also learned the basics of democracy and participation. Daily city meetings enable the children to make their own suggestions, for example to build a cinema or convert the bakery into a pizzeria. The feeling of making your own decisions sharpens your sense of responsibility and encourages you to actively participate in the design of your environment.
a place for creative development
Every week you can see how the little citizens earn money in the game, which they can then invest in leisure activities such as a circus, a mocktail bar or a soccer field. This playful approach not only gives the children dealing with money, but also promotes their social skills and cooperation with each other. The game together becomes a lesson for life at the same time, which explains the concept of the children's city, as can also be found in the comprehensive representation on wikipedia
Mayor Kreß praised the project and emphasized how important it is that children learn early on how social structures work. First city councilor also underlined that such projects convey valuable life and social skills. Sponsors such as the outpatient care service AVE VITA and the Bad Nauheim municipal utility company actively supported the children's city project-without this help, such great offers would be difficult to realize.
A look at the future
The children's city is not the sole high point of this year's summer program. In the next two weeks there are other creative and sporty camps on the forest sports field and in the Frauenwaldhalle. The children can look forward to a lot of variety and can continue to live out their talents and interests.
The idea of the children's city is not new; It is a pedagogically supervised large -scale project project that can be found in many municipalities. Similar to Bad Nauheim, more than 100 volunteers often get involved here to offer the children an exciting and educational time. Such children's cities are not only a great change of holiday games, they also offer an opportunity to learn important social and economic relationships early.
Overall, the success of the children's city in Bad Nauheim shows how valuable it is to give children the chance to actively participate in their own development and the design of their free time. Because how do you say so beautifully? Playing is learning!
