Sports badge day in Offenbach: Register now and stay fit!

On Sunday, September 21, 2025, the motto in Offenbach will be “Ready, Set, Go!” The next sports badge day will take place on this day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Rosenhöhe sports center and in the adjacent forest swimming pool. Sports enthusiasts, whether with or without restrictions, can demonstrate their skills here and take the German sports badge. The city of Offenbach reports this on its official website.

For many participants, the prerequisite is clear: swimming is a must. In order to receive the gold, silver or bronze badge, the examiners must master a discipline from the categories of endurance, strength, speed and coordination. An absolute highlight on September 21st is the 200 meter cycling sprint, although e-bikes are not permitted. Those who are well trained may even be lucky enough to achieve the badge without additional training.

Accessibility and inclusion

Particularly pleasing: Since 2023, people with a degree of disability (GdB) aged 20 and over have been able to have themselves tested under easier conditions. Proof of the GdB is necessary, and the requirements are tailored to all age groups and physical requirements. This ensures that everyone who wants to has the opportunity to be active and take on the sporting challenges.

Registration takes place directly at the registration reception at the sports facility, and it is recommended to create a profile at www.sportabzeichen-digital.de before taking part in the exams. The organizer is Marion Müller from the Offenbach Sports Office, supported by volunteers from local sports clubs, including TG Obertshausen, TV Langen and the Heusenstamm Rugby Club. This community campaign not only promotes sport, but also cohesion in the region.

New service catalog from 2025

In order to keep the sporting requirements transparent and clear, a lot has also happened with the German Sports Badge. From 2025, a new service catalog will be available, which will be provided as a PDF for adults in A4 and A3. There are also corresponding catalogs for young people and children that list the services required in detail. It is often important to consider new forms of exercise, such as in the strength category.

The most important changes concern, among other things, the disciplines in force and the exact specifications for walking and Nordic walking, for which you should now keep an eye on more precise times in order to be able to achieve the badge. An insider: For women in the age group of 90 and over, the bronze value for walking has now been set at 110:20 minutes. Another reason to deal with the necessary requirements early before the big event takes place in the city.

So if you want to do active sports and perhaps win this award, you should mark September 21st in red on your calendar. Let's go, Offenbach, see you at Sports Badge Day!
