Traffic chaos in Gelnhausen: reports of traffic jams and construction sites on June 15th!

The traffic in the Main-Kinzig district and especially in Gelnhausen is anything but relaxing this Friday, June 15, 2025. Various traffic jams, construction sites and diversions keep drivers on their toes and lead to significant delays on the roads.

As the GNZ reports, the GNZ traffic jam detector provides current data on traffic disruptions in the region. In collaboration with TomTom, known for its precise navigation systems, the information is updated every five minutes. The traffic situation includes important roads such as the A3, A45, A66 and the federal highways B8, B43, B45, B276, B457 and B521.

Current traffic jams and construction sites

The traffic information shows a large number of construction sites in the Main-Kinzig district. Particularly affected are the L2304, which is closed in both directions between Sinntal-Mottgers and L2289, as well as the B457, where a construction site towards Gründau is underway. The A66 is also not spared from restrictions; the lanes on the road towards Wiesbaden have been narrowed.

Another major factor influencing the traffic situation is the construction work, which has been ongoing since June 6th. These measures end today, but it remains to be seen how quickly the roads can be reopened to ensure citizens' mobility. It is advisable to consider alternative routes to avoid delays.

Changes in local transport

In addition to the road closures, some changes have also been announced in local transport. Today, June 15th, several stops will be canceled between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., including Bahnhofstrasse and Lindenplatz. To ensure smooth transport for passengers, there are alternative stops, including at the train station and the Stockheim car dealership.

The reason for these restrictions is the bee market celebrations, which attract many visitors and thus bring with them increased traffic. At the same time, special buses will run late into the night on lines 30, 40, 41, 45 and 50 to take this special situation into account.
