Maintal city employees celebrate 25 and 40 years of loyalty!
In Maintal, a festive ceremony recently took place in the town hall to honor the loyal employees of the city administration for their many years of loyalty. Mayor Monika Böttcher and First City Councilor Karl-Heinz Kaiser honored the achievements of the jubilarians, who have now served the city for 25 and 40 years. Advance online reports that six committed employees were honored: Michaela La Blunda, Janine Füldner, Renate Kurowski, Ulrike Neumaier, Martin Weiß and Inka Wesemann.
In her speech, Böttcher emphasized the importance of employees as the city administration's most valuable resource. “Our employees are the backbone of public services for citizens,” she said. This includes not only the drinking water supply and wastewater disposal, but also care in 14 daycare centers and the issuance of identification documents. The very high proportion of women in the city administration also stands in contrast to the free economy and is a sign of the city's family-friendly orientation. Kinzig.news adds that the city administration was recently recognized by the state of Hesse as a family-friendly employer and offers flexible working hours, which are particularly advantageous for women.
Anniversaries with great responsibility
The longest-serving employee, Martin Weiß, has worked for the city of Maintal for 40 years. He heads the environment and infrastructure department and, among other things, was responsible for the construction of three composting plants. His many years of experience are also reflected in the numerous responsibilities he has taken on. Many of those celebrating an anniversary, like Dana Lorenz-Sengöz, went through different positions within the administration. Lorenz-Sengöz started in the women's office in 1999 and now heads the mayor's office.
The event took place in the meeting room, where the chairman of the entire staff council, Florian Grünert, was also present. The high number of anniversaries shows how many motivated people work in the city administration. Despite the large number of employees - around 700 - who often do not work in the town hall, the collegial solidarity and good cooperation are particularly valued. Those celebrating their anniversary highlighted this aspect as one of the main reasons for their long-standing membership.
Good cooperation in the city administration
“Our anniversaries represent a strong team that makes an important contribution to the quality of life in Maintal in many different areas,” said Böttcher in her speech. The celebration framework is not only a sign of respect, but also an opportunity to celebrate the bond with your colleagues. Participation in the honor shows how important cohesion is in the Maintal city administration.
The city therefore remains an important employer and service provider for the approximately 42,000 residents of Maintal. This honor not only recognizes individual commitment, but also the community that has developed in the city administration. The anniversaries make it clear that something good is growing here – in the truest sense of the word!
