Petra Schmidt closes her dream home – time for Gelnhausen!

A lot is happening in Gelnhausen, especially in the run-up to Christmas. Petra Schmidt, the managing director of the city marketing and trade association, has put a lot of effort into this festive period. It organizes numerous Christmas activities to get the city's citizens and visitors in the mood for the days ahead. As gnz.de reports, six helpers are diligently packing 1,000 gift bags with goodies for the Christmas market. These bags are not just a nice gesture, they were entirely donated by the Kreissparkasse Gelnhausen and the VR Bank Bad Orb-Gelnhausen.

Sharing the anticipation of the festival is very important to Petra Schmidt. She made gingerbread houses with 30 children, and there are also craft activities on the program for the coming dates. Rainer Lapp, the operator of the Rewe market, is also generous and donates 100 building kits for the children. The proceeds from this campaign will benefit the Gelnhausen Children's Hospital Support Association.

A farewell with foresight

But while Gelnhausen is getting ready for Christmas, a personal change is also on the horizon. Petra Schmidt plans to close her home textiles business “Wohnträume” on December 31st to devote herself entirely to city marketing. She opened the doors of her business in 2003, initially on Untermarkt and, for 17 years now, on Langgasse. However, she doesn't make this decision because of challenges in retail, but rather for personal reasons. Positive news for the city: Schmidt emphasizes that her closure of the business does not mean any vacancies in Gelnhausen, as the business is to be rented out again.

However, the city marketing office will remain in place and Schmidt will continue to be actively involved in the development of her city. She is optimistic about Gelnhausen's future, especially with upcoming projects such as the Kinzig-Höfe on the former Joh site.

Gift bags as a highlight

In this context, gift bags surprisingly come into focus. These are not only attractive for the Christmas market, but can also be used all year round for various occasions. The [Wurm online shop](https://wurm.com/geschenkartikel-mehr/geschenk Verpackungen/geschenktueten/) offers a colorful selection of gift bags, boxes and special gift items. Dealers can register here to benefit from wholesale conditions.

The modern and sustainable design of the gift bags, which are available in paper or as textile gift bags, enriches the range and offers creative ideas for festivities. Whether it's a surprise for the next birthday party or a funny bottle bag for wine lovers, the variety is huge and fulfills every wish.

This brings us full circle: While Petra Schmidt cheers on the Christmas spirit in Gelnhausen, the city remains a lively place of trade and creativity. A successful mix of tradition and fresh ideas – true to the motto “Shaping the future together”.
