Magical Advent season in Hessenpark: A feast for the senses!

What’s new in the Hochtaunuskreis? This year it’s “Advent in the Museum” again in the picturesque Hessenpark open-air museum! On the first three weekends of Advent, namely on the 29th/30th. November and on the 6th/7th and 13th/14th December 2025, the festively decorated living rooms and the nostalgic atmosphere invite you to linger. From 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., visitors have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the magical world of Christmas preparations.

Here in Hessenpark there are not only fascinating insights into old customs and stories, but also the opportunity to take part in many great demonstrations. From 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., guests can look forward to a varied program of hands-on activities that will delight the whole family. Whether small or large, everyone gets their money's worth here when the crackling fire crackles in the forge and the smell of freshly baked gingerbread wafts from the bakery.

A unique experience for the whole family

A special highlight of the Advent market is the impressive Märklin model railway, which is a source of amazement with over 250 meters of track. In addition, the exhibition “A Door Every Day” shows exciting Advent calendars from more than 100 years. Here visitors can marvel at classic picture calendars, figure and chocolate calendars and indulge in nostalgic memories.

The little ones can look forward to creative children's activities, such as making Christmas decorations and wrapping presents. And as you stroll through the festively lit streets, the appetizing smells of mulled wine, waffles and roasted almonds hit your nose. It's simply a feast for the senses!

Culinary delicacies and handmade gifts

A culinary offering with regional delicacies such as cheese spaetzle and bratwurst, which effortlessly contribute to the Advent atmosphere, ensures your physical well-being. Around 30 stalls also offer homemade delicacies and handcrafted works of art. From fine jewelry to warm lambskins to stylish home accessories – you are guaranteed to find the right gift for your loved ones or yourself here.

The shops around the market square are also open and present Christmas items that complete the shopping experience. And don't forget: St. Nicholas himself will hand out small gifts to the children, adding an extra touch of magic.

So, pack your warm coats and visit the Hessenpark open-air museum, where the Christmas season is celebrated with loving traditions and unforgettable experiences. This makes Advent the highlight of the year!
