Königstein Christmas Market 2025: Joy and tradition in festive splendor!
On Friday, December 5, 2025, the popular Christmas market in Königstein opens its doors and transforms the city into a festive place full of lights and a cozy atmosphere. Over three days, until Sunday, December 7th, 2025, the Kapuzinerplatz, the Rathausplatz and the Kurpark will become the scene of a colorful hustle and bustle with more than 50 festively decorated huts.
What can visitors expect? Under the motto “Natural. Cozy. In a festive atmosphere,” the market offers a diverse program. From handicrafts to culinary delicacies to a varied entertainment offering, there is something for everyone. The newly established Christmas Market Commission has set itself the task of designing the market, renting out stands and introducing new program items. The fees for market suppliers were reduced to make participation more attractive. Königstein clubs such as the Boy Scouts and the Fire Department are particularly in focus this time.
A celebratory start
The official opening will take place on Friday at 6 p.m. on the town hall square, where Mayor Beatrice Schenk-Motzko and First City Councilor Jörg Pöschl will give welcoming remarks. The musical accompaniment will be provided by the music and show band of the Königstein 1966 fanfare procession. Afterwards there will be live music from “Rock AG & Friends” from 7 p.m., who will ring in the evening with their sounds.
Saturday offers even more entertainment: at 2 p.m. the Kids Camp sings, followed by crafting activities for wooden Christmas tags. At 4:45 p.m. there will be a joint Christmas singing with the music school, before the band “Evas Apfel” delights the audience at 7 p.m.
Program for visitors big and small
The program starts on Sunday at 12 p.m. with a performance by Schneidhain Elementary School, followed by Mammolshain Elementary School at 1 p.m. At 1:45 p.m. “Luis & Annika” will delight the guests, while the Ober-Erlenbach hunting horn players will bring the market to a musical end at 4:30 p.m.
A security concept ensures a carefree stroll through the market, and despite the cancellation of the free shuttle bus between the Christmas markets in Königstein and Kronberg, the visit remains comfortable and attractive. Market times are Friday from 4 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
