Volunteering in the Main-Taunus district: 263,250 euros for 164 clubs!
A special event took place today in the plenary hall of the district office in the Main-Taunus district that highlighted the value of voluntary work in the region. Around 340 guests came to celebrate the handover of donations totaling an impressive 263,250 euros, which were provided by, among others, the Taunus Sparkasse, the non-profit foundation and the KINDER LACHEN foundation. These generous funds benefit 164 different associations and initiatives in the region, including the ADFC Main-Taunus district association, Caritas Main-Taunus e.V. and many more who work for the common good every day.
In his speech, District Administrator Michael Cyriax emphasized the immense importance of volunteer work and emphasized how much this work contributes to the community. To round off the festive setting, comedian Luca Brosius provided entertainment for the audience. The district office's catering team ensured the physical well-being of those present with delicious food and made the event an all-round success.
A gift for the region
The donation is more than just financial support; it is a sign of recognition for those who spare no effort to help others. The organizations supported include:
- Deutsches Rotes Kreuz Ortsvereinigung Liederbach
- DLRG Kelkheim
- Freiwillige Feuerwehr Ehlhalten e.V.
- Hospizverein Horizonte e.V. Hofheim
- Kelkheimer Schwimm-Club 70 e.V.
- Malteser Kelkheim
- Sportverein Titania Eppenhain
- Tierschutzverein Bad Soden/Sulzbach
These clubs do invaluable things for society, be it through rescue operations, supporting those in need or promoting sport and culture. It is important not only to recognize this valuable work, but also to support it financially so that it can continue.
Shared commitment
The event is an excellent example of the importance of communication between nonprofit organizations and the public. Such gatherings not only strengthen the community, but also promote cooperation between the many active volunteers in the Main-Taunus district. Committed citizens who participate in these associations are the heart of a functioning society.
Another topic that is becoming increasingly important in the region is recreational activities on the water. In this context, choosing the right kayak comes into focus. OutdoorGearLab has created a list of the best inflatable kayaks that are suitable for both beginners and experienced paddlers. From comfortable models that are ideal for relaxed trips on calm waters to robust kayaks for adventurous sailors - everyone will find the right model here.
Whether it's the right choice among the numerous models or the question of how you can get actively involved in your community - the options are diverse. Today's event clearly showed that volunteering and spending time together are two sides of the same coin and make the Main-Taunus district a lively place to live and work.
