Steinheim celebrates: garden festival, old town festival and farewell to Inge Stöckel!

A lot is currently happening in Steinheim! While the community invites you to the Ecumenical Bible Week from June 11th to 13th, the Evangelical Church Community's big garden festival is on the program on June 15th. A true celebration for the whole family, which not only delights with a colorful church service, but also with stationary activities and live music. The event starts at 10 a.m. at Ludwigstrasse 29-31. Here, visitors can look forward to a family service, a children's station course, a tasty buffet and performances by daycare children and the “Dolphins” dance group. A special highlight is the live music from 6.30 p.m., which will ensure a successful evening.

The CCSW general meeting will follow on June 16th, which will take place at 8 p.m. in the youth home on Karlstrasse. Members can look forward to exciting reports and evaluations of future events. The board elections will also be on the agenda, for which applications can be submitted until June 12th.

Miscellaneous from the community

Particularly noteworthy is the series of festivities that are intended to bring Steinheim's citizens together in June. On June 19th, the St. Johann Baptist congregation invites you to the family parish festival in Marienpark from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. On June 23rd, the old town festival with St. John's bonfire will take place in the old parish church from 6 p.m. And if you haven't had enough, you can look forward to the parish festival in St. Nicholas on July 6th, which takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In addition to the celebrations, the traffic situation in Steinheim is also an issue. From June 4th to June 18th, Karlstrasse will be completely closed due to renovation work, followed by a closure of Alicestrasse, which will also not be accessible from June 13th to July 4th due to road repairs.

Mourning and honor

However, amidst all the celebrations, there is also some sad news. Community representative Inge Stöckel is saying goodbye to pastoral care after 27 years. The community also mourns Georg Dressler, who died at the age of 69, and the former pastor of St. Nikolaus, Paul Nieder, who turned 80. Their work has left a mark on the community that will not be forgotten.

On a positive note: Hildegard Geberth and Barbara Horch were awarded the state letter of honor for their voluntary work. This shows how important the citizens are in Steinheim and what contributions they make to the community.

Another happy occasion: On July 1, 2024, the general meeting of the Atlantic Bridge will take place in Berlin, which will celebrate more exciting discussions on international security architecture, while a barbecue in the garden of the Magnus House rounds off the day. Important personalities such as Rafael Grossi and David Sanger will be heard here, providing insights into current geopolitical issues. Further information about the event can be found on the [Atlantik-Brücke] website (https://www.atlantik-bruecke.org/events/memberassembly-gartenfest-2024/).
