SV Darmstadt 98: Strong together for social projects in the summer!

Movement is the order of the day in the Hessian metropolis! SV Darmstadt 98, known for its commitment to sport and society, is once again in the spotlight. A blood donation event will take place at Merck Stadium on July 10, 2025. This campaign is not only a sign of social responsibility, but also an expression of the broad solidarity that the association has shown in its numerous projects to date. According to SV Darmstadt 98, the club has always followed the guiding principle “Under the sign of the lily”, which is manifested through sporting ambitions and support for social projects.

In the first half of 2025, the Darmstadt football team was able to implement many social and sustainable projects. These initiatives would not have been possible without the great support of their dedicated fans, professional team and long-term partners. Together it was shown that solidarity goes beyond the football field. Visible signs of solidarity and social cohesion have been set. A summer break now offers the perfect opportunity to reflect on these successes while developing fresh ideas for future initiatives.

The contribution of sport to society

What have we achieved as a society through sport? This question is becoming increasingly important. Sport is not only a leisure activity, but also a powerful tool for promoting education, health and social integration. The use of sport in development projects, such as by international organizations, has increased significantly in recent decades. According to bpb.de, the United Nations is increasingly recognizing sport as a means of achieving its sustainability goals.

Many people, particularly in disadvantaged regions, benefit from the positive effects of sport. Children's programs, such as the residential school and girls' soccer team in Tanzania, are excellent examples. Sport is not just used as a leisure activity, but as a platform to promote gender equality and personal empowerment. In Germany, too, emphasis has been placed on integrating sport more closely into development policy over the years, which has become increasingly important since the 1960s.

Football with responsibility

SV Darmstadt 98 shows how local clubs can and should actively contribute to strengthening social cohesion. The social responsibility brought about by their activities ensures that football remains not just a sport, but an important social link. His commitment extends far beyond the playing field and has already had a positive impact on many people in the region.

With the blood donation date on July 10th in the Merck Stadium, SV 98 is once again showing its good hand when it comes to bringing people together and doing good. Make sure to be a part of this great initiative on this day. Every small contribution counts and in this case can save lives.
