Vehicle registration rethought: Now online and without waiting!

People in Hesse are pleased about an exciting development in the area of vehicle registration. From now on, the entire procedure can be carried out from the comfort of your own home. Thanks to the new, digital vehicle registration, it is now possible to register, re-register or de-register your vehicle without physically being present at the registration authority. Anyone who thinks that they have to take the long journey to the authorities is wrong: under www.ladadi.de/admission These online services are available around the clock, like Ladadi reported.

The introduction of the so-called iKfz process offers numerous advantages that District Administrator Klaus Peter Schellhaas can only recommend. Anyone who chooses digital offers not only saves time, but also travel. “It is a real relief for our citizens and the administration,” said Schellhaas. This also reduces the burden on employees in the admissions offices, who were previously busy with numerous telephone and written appointment requests that are often no longer necessary.

Simple and straightforward for approval

But how does the whole thing actually work? First you have to identify yourself using BundID or MeinUK if you are a company. You then fill out the online application, which includes the general inspection (HU), a safety check (SP) and confirmation of vehicle insurance (eVB number). You will also need vehicle documents that contain security codes. The payment details must be provided and the temporary registration certificate can then be printed out and visibly attached to the vehicle, like this Federal Motor Transport Authority explained.

A provisional proof of registration allows participation in road traffic for a maximum of ten days. The original documents and the plaque will then be conveniently delivered to your home by post. After ten days, you stick the sticker on the license plate and carry the vehicle registration document with you. This means that tradition and paper are not completely gone, but the first step into the digital future has been taken.

The future of approval

The Federal Ministry of Transport (BMV) has big plans to digitize the motor vehicle system in Germany. The goal is clear: vehicle registration should become simpler and more efficient. The resulting uncomplicated starting of vehicles after registration using the iKfz process arouses the curiosity of many. There are also solutions that enable simultaneous processing on a large scale, especially for large customers. The BMV website offers further information and details.

The i-Kfz app is also expected in the future, allowing vehicle documents to be stored and presented digitally. The testing phase has been completed and the official release is imminent in the second half of 2025. This will further advance digitalization in the automotive industry and could even make the registration certificate Part I available as a digital document.

With these innovations, vehicle registration in Hesse will not only be more convenient, but above all also future-proof. It remains exciting to see how citizens react to these offers and how they can make their everyday lives easier. Anyone who takes advantage of the pioneering spirit and digital possibilities now has the chance to show a good hand when it comes to vehicle registration.
