Wrong police officer in Lauterbach: 19-year-old blown up with flashing lights!

On the last night of July 21, there was a bizarre incident in Lauterbach that could read from a tension novel. A 19-year-old from the Vogelsberg district was caught as he spent out as a police officer and followed a 25-year-old driver. According to [ffh] (https://www.ffh.de/nachrichten/hessen/439086-mit-blicht-auto-sticht- falscher-policist-in-lauterbach.html) the young man stopped his destination with a BMW on which a mobile blue light was installed.

The incident began when the 19-year-old followed the woman's vehicle from Herbstein to Lauterbach. He accused her of having driven too quickly, but made no demands for money. The behavior of the supposed police officer, however, seemed strange to the driver, which caused her to take the right police.

Investigations in the course

The police quickly became active and was able to track down the wrong law enforcement officer a short time later. As reported [Oberhessen-Live] (https://www.oberhessen-live.de/2025/07/22/unberkannter-gt-sich-als-policist-aus-blichtichericht-sicher, the blue light was later secured in the man's vehicle. He now has to answer for the ambulance and coercion - two serious allegations that the local officials take seriously.

The investigation has not yet been completed. The background of the incident is unclear and are examined by the investigators. In this context, the police in Lauterbach asks other possible victims to report on 06641/971-0 or at every police station to get light into the dark.

It is clear that such incidents can shake the trust of citizens into police work. The preventive information about such fake “police officers” is therefore of the greatest importance.
