District administrator calls for deregulation: Entrepreneurial dialogue in Vogelsberg discusses the future!

A considerable number of actors from business and politics gathered in Lauterbach on November 16, 2025. Around 130 entrepreneurs and politicians came together in the Votronic company premises to discuss pressing issues at this year's entrepreneur dialogue. This dialogue was organized by District Administrator Dr. Jens Mischak (CDU) in cooperation with the district's economic development agency and the KVA. The special highlight this year: For the first time, it took place on the premises of a company, which made the exchange between business and politics even more tangible.

As the Upper Hessian newspaper reported, the focus was on topics such as deregulation and structural support in the Vogelsberg district. Dr. Mischak expressed concerns about the lack of growth in the automotive industry. In this context, he not only called for a reduction in bureaucratic hurdles, but also for faster solutions to economic challenges.

The role of the special fund

A central issue was the newly established special fund, which comprises over 500 billion euros and was established by means of an amendment to the Basic Law in March 2025. Of these funds, 27 million euros will be available to the Vogelsberg district over the next 12 years, which means 2.3 million euros annually. “We have to promote private investment in order to use this money sustainably,” said Mischak. The Federal Government emphasizes that the funds should be used to modernize infrastructure and achieve climate neutrality by 2045.
The funds will be invested in both infrastructure projects and educational measures to strengthen the country's competitiveness.

Presentation of innovative companies

Three companies that make a decisive contribution to the regional economic situation were also presented in more detail at the dialogue. The Votronic company is a manufacturer of mobile power supplies and chargers and supplies, among other things, camping and rescue vehicles. D+Z GmbH & Co. KG is active in the field of energy technology and is involved in infrastructure construction. Another company, terra infrastructure from Alsfeld, specializes internationally in profile technology and trench shoring and employs 420 people. In addition, the Demeterhof Schwalmtal is an important part of regional agriculture, with around 20 different crops grown on its 285 hectares.

Particularly noteworthy is the “Training Ambassador” project, which was launched in collaboration with the district craftsmen’s association. This example shows what successful cooperation between education and business can look like and what potential lies in it. In discussions with entrepreneurs, it became clear that a partnership-based exchange between politics and business is essential in order to actively shape the future of the Vogelsberg district.

The business dialogue has once again shown that there is a problem with the further development of the region. Whether through de-bureaucratization or targeted investments – there is a lot to do. The focus must always be on the common goals: growth, innovation and a future worth living for all citizens in the Vogelsberg district.
