SV Leusel celebrates 100 years of sports history with a big festival!
Alsfeld, Deutschland - The Leusel sports association recently celebrated its 100th anniversary with a great festival commer. From June 18 to 22, 2025, the anniversary celebrations took place, which invites the entire village community with a colorful program. The chairman Marco Meier welcomed numerous guests, among them political representatives and long -standing club members who have been committed to the association in recent decades. "This is not only a reason to celebrate, but also to show how important our volunteering is," explained Meier during his speech and announced a special honor: the sports field was officially renamed Hugo-Schmidt sports field to appreciate Hugo Schmidt for his over 50 years of engagement. This decision was very well received because the sports field is a central point of contact for numerous sporting activities in the region.
Mayor Stephan Paule awarded the city of Alsfeld's honor badge to SV Leusel during the celebrations and thus praised the merits of the association in the community. Especially the focus was also on the volunteers who are indispensable for the operation and diversity of sporting offers in the club. The voluntary work, such as the many helping hands in the organization and implementation of events, is still crucial to secure the continued existence of such clubs. In Germany, around 15.72 million people volunteered in sports in 2022, which underlines the valuable contribution of the sports clubs. As part of the celebration,Peter Kraus recalled the numerous successes of SV Leusel, who has established itself over the years as a fixture in regional sport. "Seven indoor tournament victories and the promotion to the group league are just a few highlights from our history," said Kraus. These successes are not only a source of pride for the club members, but also attract new members who want to join the association.
The festive season was characterized by a variety of events: On Wednesday evening, the celebrations started with a children's disco, followed by a disco evening. A youth football tournament on Thursday and a commercial evening on Friday with subsequent village evening ensured that there was something for every taste. Another youth tournament and an old -man tournament took place on Saturday, rounded off by an 80s and 90s party in the evening. The conclusion was a festive service with a morning pint on Sunday.

The political support for volunteering was illustrated not only by the honors, such as the bronze pin of the city of Alsfeld for Marco Meier, but also by the laudation of Maximilian Ziegler and State Secretary Michael Ruhl. Both emphasized the role of SV Leusel as a model for other clubs. The association was recently honored by the Hessian Football Association for its sporting achievements and volunteering, which underlines the commitment of everyone involved.
The first district deputy Patrick Krug was also on site and presented the badge of the Federal President and the Hessian Prime Minister. Mayor Ralf Lämmer also recalled the need for political support for a new concept for the multi -purpose hall, which is another important topic in the community.
With a lively appearance of a dance group of the Leuseler Carneval Club, the celebration was atmospheric. Dieter Krämer, who has been active in the club since 1962 and is now 75 years old, called for strengthening the sense of community during the celebration. "Community and cohesion must always be in the first place," said Krämer.
The SV Leusel not only celebrated the past with its anniversary, but also thrown out an outlook on the future.
