Fighting spirit of a three-year-old: Luise's hope for dolphin therapy

In Bebra, a small town in the Hersfeld-Rotenburg district, the smile of a three-year-old girl named Luise fills people's hearts with hope. Luise has been battling a rare form of epilepsy for almost two years, which torments her with unpredictable seizures. Despite the numerous setbacks she has experienced, she remains optimistic and never loses faith in better days. Her family and friends actively support her.

The fundraising campaign, which was launched to finance Luise's dolphin therapy, has already brought in over 15,000 euros. The family has set itself an ambitious goal: a total of 16,500 euros should be collected to enable the little fighter to receive this special therapy. This type of therapy is known to promote relaxation, coordinate movements, and improve understanding of the world. As the Osthessen News reports, the campaign is supported by Jeanette Reinhardt from Bebra, who is fully committed to the family's interests.

A difficult fight

Luise was diagnosed with a rare genetic abnormality called IQSEC2. This anomaly causes their brain to work differently than other children. During her seizures, which she describes as “storms in the head,” she can experience violent and sudden pauses and convulsions. Such attacks can last for varying lengths of time, with most lasting less than two minutes. If they occur for more than five minutes without a break, it is called status epilepticus. Unfortunately, many medications have not had the desired effect; it was only six months ago that a drug was found that seems to help with her seizures. However, the road to recovery is rocky as the attacks occur in phases and cause exhaustion.

Luise finds a place of refuge in her animal-assisted therapy with her pony Vulkan. This therapy not only serves a psychological purpose, but also has a positive effect on your physical condition. Unfortunately, the costs are not covered by health insurance, which is why the family has to pay for the therapy on their own.

Community support

The situation, in which a lot revolves around Luise's health, has mobilized people in the area. The idea of dolphin therapy proved to be a ray of hope in dark times and is a testament to the strength of community and the tireless effort the family puts in to help their daughter. They are active on the “gofundme” platform to raise the necessary amount for therapy.

A small ray of hope is that Luise keeps a bright smile despite all the challenges. Her unwavering determination and the support of those around her give the family strength to continue fighting for their daughter. In difficult times it becomes clear how important solidarity and community are. It remains to be hoped that Luise's story will reach many more people and that she will receive the support she needs to achieve her goals.
