In Eichenzell there is an exciting election campaign in the house! On December 7, 2025, the mayor election will take place, in which Johannes Rothmund will again compete as a candidate by the CDU. At a well -attended general meeting on June 16, 2025, which took place in "Joe’s Café" in Lütter, Rothmund received overwhelming support: 32 out of 33 members voted voted for him, there was only one vote against him. The CDU community association Eichenzell is thus closed behind its candidate. In his joy about this nomination, Rothmund then celebrated with a round.

The chairman of the CDU community association, Simon Jestädt, took over the moderation of the election, while Erik Schäckermann acted as election manager. Jestädt praised Rothmund for his professional competence and human presence, but noted that he could sometimes listen to more before making decisions. In his inaugural speech, Rothmund himself looked back on the success of the past term of office: coping with the Corona period, household consultations and even the new location of the Pappert bakery in Eichenzell. In addition, more space is to be created for craft and commercial companies, while volunteering is to be promoted and expanded.
