Summer concert of the Anne Frank School: Farewell to talents and traditions!
The summer concert of the soloist class at the Anne Frank School in Eschwege last weekend was a true festival of sounds and a successful gathering of the entire school community. Fresh and full of energy, the talented students presented their musical skills and conjured up an evening full of joy and emotion. The guests were able to experience Franzi Schäfer's last performance, who will dedicate herself to new challenges after graduating from high school. Viola Wehrmann and Maxime Hennemuth, both tenth graders, also completed their time in the soloist class with their performances.
Headmistress Kerstin Ihde, who also made her last official appearance, welcomed the audience and spoke about the importance of music in school. The lectures by Daniel Kaufhold, who organized the evening with great commitment, as well as the contributions of all the soloists, contributed to the special atmosphere. Franzi Schäfer impressed with her performances of “Burn” from *Hamilton* and “Only Us” from *Dear Evan Hansen*.
Young talents shine
But it wasn't just the older students who were a hit: younger talents from years five and six also gave their best and contributed to the energy of the evening with their contributions. Inga Scheuer, Leonie Ackermann, Marlene Herger and Pola Joszefowska sang the powerful song “Defying Gravity” from *Wicked*, while Charlotte Wolff and her classmates Martha Freund, Käthe Bayer, Jette Börner and Mia Seifert thrilled the audience with “Die With A Smile”. Former students Anna Tapu and Palak Kaur also revived memories with “City of Stars”.
The evening finally culminated in a joint finale in which all soloists performed together in “Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story” and captivated the audience with their harmony and passion.
Intercultural week starts
The program promises a lot of variety: starting Thursday, a play for children and workshops on diversity will be offered. Socializing is a must at the Summer Festival of Diversity in the Bad Sooden-Allendorf community garden. Here visitors can eat together, enjoy games and get to know each other better. The aim is to show the ways to peaceful coexistence in the community and to promote respectful coexistence. It starts with the peace song “Prayer of the mothers”, which will include Milena Vaupel-Kenter, Patricia Seyfarth and Julia Eckhardt. These intercultural events reflect the openness of the school community and serve as an important showcase for the diverse cultural work at the Anne Frank School schul-bw.de highlights. They are a valuable tool for Kika students to come together voluntarily and offer low-threshold access to topics of integration and cultural exchange. In summary, Eschwege is sending a clear signal for community, cultural diversity and exchange between different cultures with these two events. From music to intercultural dialogue – there is a lot on offer in the Werra-Meißner district.
