Eschwege's oldest club is celebrating 135 years and helping landlords!

Something is happening in Eschwege: The house, apartment and landowners' association is proudly celebrating 135 years since its founding and during this time has established itself as one of the largest contact points for landlords. The association currently has around 540 members who meet regularly for personal consultations at Bismarckstrasse 1, in the district craftsmen's association building.

Every Thursday, from 9am to 12pm and 4pm to 6pm, the doors are open to members and offer valuable information and support. “We are here to provide owners with advice on all questions relating to tenancy law and their real estate,” says Norbert Ackermann, who has led the association’s fortunes as chairman since 2011.

Competent advice and support

The range of services offered extends from tenant selection and rental agreements to utility bills and neighbor law. The association has thought of everything - members can rely on legally competent tips from lawyer Andreas Goschin, who is also second chairman. He is available for free oral consultations. “This brings security and a good hand in dealing with tenants,” adds Ackermann.

But personal advice is not the only thing that is not neglected. Members also receive access to current, landlord-friendly sample letters and contracts included in the monthly magazine. Membership currently costs 55 euros per year; from next year the fee will increase to 70 euros, but landlords can deduct this as business expenses.

Information on finding tenants

Safe tenants are the key to success in the rental business. When making your selection, the association recommends paying attention to criteria such as a certificate of no rent debt, Schufa self-disclosure and personal interviews. In addition, insurance such as homeowners' liability and rent loss insurance for landlords should not be neglected in order to prevent potential problems.

The information series from Haus & Grund offers additional information and training. These monthly online events address, among other things, legal pitfalls when renting a property and tax tips for owners. Participation is free and open to anyone interested - a valuable opportunity to continue training and network. Registration is easy and can be done via email or telephone.

These comprehensive offers show that the house, apartment and landowners' association in Eschwege is not just a mandatory event, but a real partner for everyone who works in the real estate sector. The combination of individual advice, valuable information and a supportive network ensures that members are well equipped to successfully meet the challenges of renting.
